At its Regular Meeting of Monday May 11, 2026, at 6:00 pm Council of the District of Kent will consider the issuance of a Temporary Use Permit for 2062 Lougheed Highway, Agassiz, BC, as authorized under Section 493 of the Local Government Act.
Agassiz, British Columbia – The Lets’emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC) is nearing its completion in the District of Kent. A project, decades in the making to bring a new, year-round, aquatic facility to the region. The LRRAC reached its first major milestone in 2022 with the District’s successful application to the Investing in Canada’s Infrastructure Program (ICIP) – Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream. This provided $454,112 in Federal funding and more than $9.5 million in Provincial funding towards the Regional Aquatic Centre. The project is also supported by $2.8 million from B.C.’s Growing Communities Fund.
Power has now been fully restored at the Community Recreation & Cultural Centre (CRCC), and all electrical work related to the Lets'emot Regional Recreation & Aquatic Centre construction has been successfully completed.
The Community Recreation & Cultural Centre (CRCC) is currently experiencing a planned power outage as part of the Lets'emot Regional Recreation & Aquatic Centre construction project. The outage began at 8:30 am today.

Notice: The electric vehicle charging station located at the Aberdeen building parking lot (7167 Pioneer Ave) is temporarily out of service. The District is aware and is working to get the chargers up and running again as soon as possible.
