Mayor's Report
Mayor Pranger was presented with the first poppy from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #32 on October 23, 2025. Council's Report
On October 21, 2025, Councillor Post attended the Community Futures North Fraser meeting where the District's request for financial support of Winter Night Lights was approved.
Councillors Schwichtenberg and Spaeti, along with Mayor Pranger and senior staff, attended the first of three Emergency Management – Cultural Capacity training sessions hosted by Sq'éwqel.
At the October 21, 2025 Agassiz Harrison Healthy Communities meeting, Councillor Spaeti reported that Dr. Bernard Klop, District Counsellor at Fraser Cascade School District 78 presented some concerning data on middle years youth, which resulted in the creation of a Youth Inclusion subcommittee that includes a District staff representative. The subcommittee focus is on promoting youth inclusion in the community through events, recreation programming, activities, and opportunities.
Councillor Watchorn presented Mayor Pranger with a plaque of appreciation from the Agassiz Speedway. As the Council liaison appointed to the Agassiz Speedway, Councillor Watchorn attended the 2025 Awards Banquet where he shared a wonderful meal and learned more about the many different types of cars that race, as well as the wide range of communities where drivers originate from. The Agassiz Speedway's Annual General Meeting will be coming up in two weeks.
Remembrance Day Ceremony and Wreath Laying
Mayor Pranger will be placing a wreath at the Cenotaph on November 11, 2025. There will be a Parade leaving the Agassiz Legion Hall at 10:45 AM, the Parade will make its way to the Cenotaph for the ceremony which will begin at 11:00 AM.

Community Recreation and Cultural Centre – Hours
Mayor and Council have approved extending summer hours for the Community Recreation and Cultural Centre (CRCC). Due to an increase of CRCC users and high attendance the CRCC will have a consistent closing time of 9:00 PM.

Christian Heritage and Interfaith Collaboration Month - Proclamation
Mayor Pranger has declared December as "Christian Heritage and Interfaith Collaboration Month" in the District of Kent. As the District is an interfaith community, it is important to highlight peace, tolerance and mutual understanding between people of all religions, convictions and beliefs.
The celebration of "Christian Heritage and Interfaith Collaboration Month" calls upon groups of goodwill, people of different faiths and those with no faith to recognize common values and cooperatively enhance interfaith harmony and interreligious dialogue.

- October 31 - 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM - Come down to the Agricultural Hall and join us for our Free Annual Halloween Spooktacular! Community Pumpkin Carving Contest, Games, Boo Bank for Prizes, and Haunted Hot Dogs by the Agassiz Harrison Lions Club. Costumes Encouraged.

- December 12 (4:30 PM – 8:30 PM) and 13 (2:30 PM – 7:30 PM) – Winter Night Lights is back for the sixth year! During the event you can enjoy food trucks, mini train rides, and other fun activities.
