Proclamation: World Suicide Prevention Day 2026

Mayor Pranger proclaimed September 10, 2026, as “World Suicide Prevention Day” in the District of Kent. The International Association of Suicide Prevention is focused on changing the narrative on suicide, to shift from a culture of silence and lack of understanding to one of openness, empathy, and support.  World Suicide Prevention Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness, fostering change and providing a supportive sense of community and understanding for those with lived or living experience.
