Proclamation: National Drowning Prevention Week 2024

July 19, 2024 – Mayor and Council have declared July 21 – 27, 2024 as “National Drowning Prevention Week” in the District of Kent.

In BC, during 2023, 100 people died from drowning, to raise awareness of this issue the United Nations General Assembly named July 25 of each year World Drowning Prevention Day.
