Proclamation: Literacy is Life 2024

Mayor Pranger proclaimed September as “Literacy Month” in the District of Kent. Literacy is important to all citizens as it impacts every area of modern life: healthcare, civic engagement, education, employment, and the economy. While many residents have adequate literacy skills - too many simply do not.
