District of Kent Staff Presented With King Charles III Coronation Medals

Agassiz, British Columbia – On December 6, 2024, Member of Parliament Brad Vis presented twenty King Charles III Coronation Medals. These recipients are individuals who have made a significant contribution to the riding of Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon and Canada.

The District of Kent is proud to share that two employees were part of this distinguished group. Mayor Pranger and Council congratulates Mr. Mah and Fire Chief Basten on receiving this significant recognition and thanks them for their many years of leadership and hard work.

Our Chief Administrative Officer, Wallace Mah, has been a local government leader with forty plus years of dedicated service, and was instrumental in fostering reconciliation and bringing together the people in constructing the Lets'emot (One Heart, One Mind) Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre.

Fire Chief Gerald Basten has devoted forty years to the Agassiz Fire Department, and under his leadership the Agassiz Fire Department heroically rescued nine motorists trapped during the 2021 atmospheric river.
