Mayor's Report

Mayor Pranger, and other members of the Lets'emot Community to Community were invited to participate on a panel discussion at the Lower Mainland Local Government Association Conference recently held on April 29 – May 1. Along with Grand Chief Willie Charlie, Chief Jim Harris, and Councillor Leo Facio, she was honoured to speak about the successful partnership between Cheam First Nation, the District of Kent, Sq'éwlets First Nation, Seabird Island Band, Stó:lō Tribal Council, Sts'ailes, and the Village of Harrison Hot Springs

Mayor Pranger expressed her appreciation to the many volunteers that help provide the many services enjoyed by the community.

Thanks to the volunteers at the Agassiz Harrison Museum the speeder has been restored and is in the process of being painted, a heritage garden has been weeded and will be replanted in front of the Museum, and the Caboose is now heated with lighting.

The Agassiz Harrison Lions Club was once again giving back to our community. On Saturday May 10, volunteers were out giving flowers to ladies at various locations in downtown Agassiz for Mother's Day.

The Friends of the Dike volunteers were hard at work conducting six inspections from January 1 to March 31 along the District dikes. Thanks to these volunteers our dike trails are better maintained and kept clear of garbage. When using the public dike trails please stay on the public path, be respectful of private property, and utilize the provided trail waste receptacles.
