From the meeting held on June 8, 2026

Mayor’s Report

On May 26 Mayor Pranger and Council attended the Burgers and Brews fundraiser event for the Lets’emot Regional Recreation & Aquatic Centre (LRRAC). Mayor Pranger expressed how grateful she was to have the opportunity to gather together and raise over $1,200 for the beautiful new pool.

Council’s Report

On June 5, Councillor Spaeti attended the Agassiz Elementary Secondary School Graduation Ceremony, noting how glad she was to attend and see that over $80,000 in bursaries and scholarships were presented to the graduating class. She thanked local businesses and residents for their support to the graduates.

Councillor Spaeti congratulated the Agassiz Minor Baseball PeeWee team in their first place finish of the regular season. They will now advance to the division finals where they will compete for the chance to reach the Provincial championship. Mayor and Council are excited to see our local team do so well.

“I Swam the Ferny Coombe”

To celebrate the last season of the beloved Ferny Coombe Outdoor Pool, which opened in 1978, local resident and Lets’emot Regional Aquatic Centre Fundraising Committee Member, Nicole Dumas, has designed a farewell piece of art. Merchandise of this design is available at the Community Recreation and Cultural Centre (6660 Pioneer Avenue, 604-796-8891). Hats, shirts, towels, totes, and more are all available for a limited time!

This is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for the pool that has supported our community for 48 seasons, as well as to help fund the new aquatic centre. All proceeds will go towards the Lets’emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre.

Temporary Use Permit – 6960 Cheam Avenue

Council approved the continuing use of outdoor lumber storage at 6960 Cheam Avenue with a one-year Temporary Use Permit. This approval aligns with the proposed property disposition to Kelkate Holdings Ltd. (Agassiz Building Centre).
