Heavy Rainfall Warning - March 2026
A rainfall warning has been issued for our region, with rainfall expected to increase over the next 48 hours. This brings concerns of rising water levels, pooling water, reduced visibility, and the risk of landslides in the area.
Total rainfall of 80 – 120 mm is forecast for the District of Kent, in addition gusty winds (up to 70km) expected Friday following the precipitation. Prolonged heavy rainfall combined with warming temperatures may also lead to snow melt and rising river levels.
Residents should take extra care on the roads over the next 48 hours as there is a high likelihood of pooling water and limited visibility, as well as avoiding flowing waterways.
Residents should also check their drains for any debris.
