Half Mast for National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women 2025

In honour of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women the flags at District of Kent facilities will be at half-mast the weekend of December 6, 2025.

This day is to honour the 14 young women who were targeted and murdered due to their gender at Polytechnique Montréal on December 6, 1989. Wear a white ribbon to honour the victims and show your support for the call to end gender-based violence. The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement of men and boys in more than 60 countries working to end male violence against women and girls. It began in Toronto in 1991 in response to the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre.
