December 13: Notice of Public Hearing Amendment Bylaw 1683

Council of the District of Kent will be holding a public hearing for District of Kent Zoning Bylaw No. 1683, 2021.

If adopted, Bylaw 1683 would:

• Allow properties within the ALR to have forms of cannabis operations that may not be prohibited by local governments and limited indoor micro-cannabis cultivation facilities.
• Limit indoor micro-cannabis cultivation facilities and associated farm product processing to a floor area of no more than 900 m².
• Limit site coverage of all farm-related industrial uses to the maximum site coverage of no more than 5% on lots greater than 4 ha or 0.2 ha on lots equal to or less than 4 ha.
• Revise the Agricultural Commercial Zone to an Agri-industrial Zone to provide a rezoning opportunity for large scale cannabis facilities in the ALR.
