Avian Flu and Deceased Birds 2024

BC is currently experiencing an avian influenza outbreak which is affecting food-producing birds, pet birds, and wild birds.

If you come across a wild bird that appears to be sick, dying, or deceased, please stay away and report it to the Wildlife Agency at: 1-866-431-2473

If you suspect a bird you own has avian influenza, do not take the sick bird off the property, call your veterinarian, and contact your nearest Canadian food inspection agency animal health office.
