Air Quality Advisory - July 2026
☁️Air Quality Advisory
The District of Kent, and the Eastern Fraser Valley, has been issued a yellow (high health risk*) air quality warning due to elevated fine particulate matter (PM 2.5). This is due to smoke from the Brunswick Creek wildfire near Boston Bar in the Fraser Canyon.
Smoke levels can change quickly with weather and fire behaviour.
During this air quality warning be sure to:
- Check in on vulnerable neighbours and loved ones.
- When possible, use portable HEPA air cleaners or do-it-yourself box fan air cleaners.
- Keep windows and doors closed while running air filtration. If it’s hot, focus on staying cool.
- Seek medical help if you experience severe symptoms such as wheezing, chest pain, trouble breathing or severe cough. Call 911 in emergencies.
