6960 Cheam Ave - Proposed Extension of Property Disposition & TCP - 2026

Pursuant to the Community Charter and Local Government Act, the District of Kent gives notice that Council intends to extend the date to dispose of the property legally described as Lot 2 District Lot 19 Group 1 Yale Division Yale District Plan EPP72347 and commonly known as 6960 Cheam Avenue, Agassiz, BC. The disposition to Kelkate Holdings Ltd. (Agassiz Building Centre) for the purchase price of $1 million, will occur no later than November 30, 2026, for the purpose of lumber storage and operational requirements.

The extension of a Temporary Commercial Permit (TCP) of up to one year (June 12, 2027) will continue to allow the temporary storage of extra lifts of lumber. The lumber will be stored in stacks approximately one foot from the fence line and be contiguous to the lumber stored at 6950 Cheam Avenue.

Council will consider the TCP at its Regular meeting on June 8, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Municipal Hall, 7170 Cheam Avenue. Please see the hatched area for the proposed land disposition and TCP.

A copy of the TCP and background materials will be available for viewing online at kentbc.ca and in the reception foyer at Municipal Hall, 7170 Cheam Avenue, beginning May 22, 2026 during regular office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Written submissions with respect to the TCP must be received no later than 12:30 p.m. on June 8, 2026. Submissions may be sent to planning@kentbc.ca.
