PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY given to the electors of the District of Kent that an election by voting is necessary to elect FOUR (4) Councillors and that the following persons are candidates:

COUNCILLOR – FOUR (4) to be elected

VOTING DATES AND LOCATIONS

GENERAL VOTING DAY will be open to qualified electors of the District of Kent on Saturday, October 17, 2026 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the following location:

Agassiz Agricultural Hall

6800 Pioneer Avenue

THREE ADVANCE VOTING OPPORTUNITIES will be open to qualified electors of the District of Kent:

A SPECIAL VOTING OPPORTUNITY on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2026 will be available to qualified electors who are RESIDENTS of these facilities at the time of voting as follows:

Friday, October 16, 2026

• Hazelnut Grove, 2008 McCaffrey Road - 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

• Dogwood Manor, 7284 Morrow Road - 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

• Glenwood Seniors Community/Logan Manor, 1458 Glenwood Drive - 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

• Agassiz Seniors Community, 1525 MacKay Crescent - 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Please note that voting for School District 78, Agassiz-Harrison Trustees for District of Kent electors, will also take place at these voting locations.

ELECTOR REGISTRATION

There is no need to pre-register to vote as the registration of all electors for this election will take place at the time of voting. You will be required to make a declaration that you meet the following requirements:

• 18 years of age or older when registering to vote or on general voting day, October 17, 2026;
• Canadian citizen;
• a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration (at time of voting);
• resident of the District of Kent OR
• registered owner of real property in the District of Kent for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration (at time of voting); and
• not be disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or assent voting and not otherwise disqualified by law.

Resident electors must produce two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.

Non-resident electors must produce two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove identity, and proof that they are entitled to register in relation to the property, and if applicable, written consent from the other property owners.*

Acceptable Types of Identification include:

• BC Driver’s Licence
• Social Insurance Number
• ICBC Vehicle Insurance documents
• BC Identification Card
• BC Services Card
• Canadian Citizenship Card
• Credit or Debit Card
• Utility Bill
• Property Tax Notice

An election official may also accept other forms of documents that provide evidence satisfactory to the election official.
