PUBLIC NOTICE IS GIVEN AS FOLLOWS:

ADVANCE VOTING DATES AND LOCATION

ADVANCE VOTING OPPORTUNITIES will be HELD as follows:

1)

Saturday, October 3, 2026 from

8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Agassiz Agricultural Hall,

6800 Pioneer Avenue

2)

Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from

8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Lets’emó:t Regional Recreation & Aquatic Centre (formerly the Community Recreation and Cultural Centre),

6660 Pioneer Avenue

3)

Saturday, October 10, 2026 from

11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

ELECTOR REGISTRATION

There is no need to pre-register to vote as the registration of all electors for this election will take place at the time of voting. You will be required to make a declaration that you meet the following requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older when registering to vote or on general voting day, October 17, 2026;
  • Canadian citizen;
  • resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration;
  • resident of the District of Kent on the day of registration, or registered owner of real property in the District of Kent for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
  • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.

Resident electors must produce two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.

Non-resident property electors must produce two (2) pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove identity, and proof that they are entitled to register in relation to the property, and, if applicable, written consent from the majority of the property owners. A consent form is available in advance by contacting the Chief Election Officer or designate.

 

TYPES OF DOCUMENTS THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED AS IDENTIFICATION

You must produce at least two (2) documents that provide evidence of your identity and place of residence, at least one (1) of which must contain your signature. The following classes of documents will be accepted:

  • BC Driver’s Licence
  • Social Insurance Number
  • ICBC Vehicle Insurance documents
  • BC Identification Card
  • BC Services Card
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Credit or Debit Card
  • Utility Bill
  • Property Tax Notice

An election official may also accept other forms of documents that provide evidence satisfactory to the election official.

Please note that voting for School District 78, Agassiz-Harrison Trustees for District of Kent electors will also take place at these voting locations.
