April 18, 2024 – Mayor and Council have declared May 12, 2024 as “Fibromyalgia Awareness Day” in the District of Kent.
Fibromyalgia Awareness Day aims to together find ways to enhance the quality of lives for people affected by fibromyalgia and together find a cure. Fibromyalgia affects about 5% of Canada’s population, over 2,000,000 individuals, with no known cause or cure. Residents are encouraged to show their support and solidarity by wearing purple and hosting events in support of fibromyalgia awareness.
