As a precautionary measure, the District of Kent is notifying residents living north of Lillooet Avenue along Rockwell Drive of a potential road closure by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) due to the rising water levels on Harrison Lake.
The MOTI has advised that Rockwell Drive may be subject to a full closure at Lillooet Avenue when Harrison Lake reaches 12.3 meters.
The current level of Harrison Lake is 12 m and based on current modelling that level may reach the threshold by Monday evening (July 4, 2022).
The District of Kent is monitoring water levels daily and will continue to do so. Residents are asked to prepare to be evacuated.
A complete closure of Rockwell Drive by MOTI may prevent residents as well as emergency vehicles from accessing the area.
