June 22, 2021
Agassiz, British Columbia – As of June 15, 2021, BC has entered Step 2 of our restart plan, meaning that indoor seated organized gatherings of up to 50 people are now permitted.
The District of Kent will return to limited in-person public attendance at Public Hearings and Council meetings.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the District has provided public participation in Public Hearings via webcast as well as a live audio option for Regular Council meetings through Microsoft Teams since December 12, 2020.
The occupancy limit for a meeting in Council Chambers is a maximum of 20 people, which includes all elected officials, staff members, and members of the public present, as outlined in the District of Kent’s WorkSafeBC COVID-19 Safety Plan.
We encourage members of the public to participate in Council meetings and Public Hearings through our webcast option and recommend attending in person when possible. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place.
For Question Period, during Council meetings, the public are asked to submit their questions (for items pertaining to the agenda only) directly to the Director of Corporate Services at clee@kentbc.ca.
Written submissions for Public Hearings will be outlined in the relevant Public Hearing notice.
Information and instructions for registering for meetings along with Agendas for the Public Hearing and Council meetings are posted on the District’s website at: kentbc.ca/publichearing.
Thank you for continuing to do your part to prevent the spread by protecting yourself and others. Keep up to date with the District’s response to COVID-19 by visiting our website at kentbc.ca.
