BC Hydro and the District of Kent work together to keep street lights in your neighbourhood in good repair and help keep your community safe.
Please note there are two different kinds of street lights operating within the community. Lights on galvanized steel posts are typically owned and maintained by the District, and lights installed on wood posts are typically owned and maintained by BC Hydro.
If you notice a street light that is out, flickering, on during the day or vandalized, please report the concern right away.
When reporting an issue, please try to include important details such as:
If a BC Hydro owned street light requires maintenance or replacement, District staff will register the outage in BC Hydro's Street Light Information Management (SLIM) system. Once registered, BC Hydro will place the request on their priority listing. Once a request is made, District staff are unable to expedite BC Hydro's process.
