The District of Kent has two municipal cemeteries.

Valley View Cemetery - 4600 Cemetery Rd (Follow Cemetery Road up and past the Agassiz Speedway and to the end of Alm Park)
Plots are available for caskets, in-ground cremation, and above-ground columbaria burial. A scatter garden is also available to ceremonially release cremated remains. A map including names is at the entrance to the cemetery. You may also locate specific plots at Valley View using the web map below.

Types of Plots Available

Residency & Rates

Plots for District of Kent residents are sold at a lower rate than for former and non-residents. Former residents must provide proof that they have resided in the Municipality in the past.

All in ground burials require a grave liner as per the District's Bylaws.

In-Ground Interment/Burial Options

Full-sized plots are for the burial of:

  • One casket and up to two cremated remains
  • Family cremation plot of up to eight cremated remains

Cremation plots are for the burial of one cremated remain or one unity urn.

Above Ground Columbaria Niche

Inurnment is the setting of cremated remains in an above-ground structure called a columbaria niche. Each niche is 11.5" x 11.5" x 15" and can accommodate up to two urns. Granite panels are affixed to the front of the niche which can be purchased to be inscribed as the family wishes.

Scatter Gardens

The scatter garden is a designated place within the cemetery where family and friends can permanently scatter the ashes of their loved one. A memorial plaque can be placed on the memorial rock to offer remembrance to the person resting there.

A scattering interment can only be arranged at time of need, it cannot be pre-purchased.

Selling, Transferring, or Refunding an Interment Space

The District of Kent does not allow the private re-sale of interment spaces. However, a rights holder may transfer their interment space to a direct family member or return the space to the District for a partial refund of its original purchased price.

For general information or to arrange an interment please contact the District of Kent at 604-796-2235 during regular office hours. Arrangements can be made in person by appointment or through email.

Please contact the Cemetery Clerk for more information.

Memorial Markers
