Recreation Cashier / Receptionist (Casual) Competition 2024-47 |
The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Recreation, Culture & Projects Department.
We are seeking a positive, energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented customer service representative to join our team as a casual Cashier / Receptionist at the Community Recreation and Cultural Centre (CRCC) located in Agassiz.
Under the direction of the Recreation Facilities Clerk, the Cashier / Receptionist will perform a variety of duties ranging from meeting and greeting the public; handling recreation-based questions; assisting with processing manual and /or computerized school, public and user group programs, facility bookings and registrations; and cash register operation and summaries, including reconciling cash sheets. This is a public-facing position where you will utilize your strong customer service skills to interact with the public.
Required qualifications:
Pay and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458. The 2024 post-probation wage rate for this position is $26.32 per hour plus 14.0% in lieu of benefits. You must be available for shifts from 4 to 8 hours in duration, anytime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., inclusive of evenings, weekends and some holidays. This casual position will not exceed 75 hours per month.

Equipment Operator 2 Competition #2024-48 |
The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Public Works Department for an Equipment Operator 2. Equipment Operator 2's perform tasks ranging from general labouring work to the operation of Municipal equipment. The incumbent will be required to operate equipment assigned, including equipment identified as 'Equipment Operator 1' as well as large equipment such as the grader, sweeper, roadside and ditch mowers, backhoe, loader, flusher truck, dump truck, and large tractors or trucks with snow or ice control equipment attached, and other related equipment. Additional duties include performing daily inspections/minor maintenance, assisting in light repairs/maintenance, and operating equipment in accordance with recognized and acceptable practices.

Upon successful completion of the required probationary period, the 2024 wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $35.22 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP).
