The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services Department for an IT / GIS Technician.
Under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Services, the IT/GIS Technician will prepare and archive historical records, assists in the maintenance of the Municipal mapping database (including legal and utility servicing maps and drawings), web-based development and maintenance, and website updates. The IT/GIS Technician also provides technical support, information, advice, and assistance (computer user support and problem resolution) to staff.

Labourer 1 (Up to 2 Positions) Competition #2025-02 |
The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Public Works Department for up to two full-time Labourer 1 positions.
Labourer 1's perform tasks ranging from general labouring work involving non- or semi-skilled duties, to providing assistance to drivers of vehicles of 10,000 kg gross vehicle weight and under.
The incumbent(s) will be required to operate hand power tools assigned including string trimmers, drills, saws, pressure washers, paint sprayers, small pumps, hand mowers, etc. Additional duties include performing daily inspections/minor maintenance and operating power tools and vehicles in accordance with recognized and acceptable practices (including the safety of the public, property and other staff members).

FireSmart Coodinator (Time Durated Position) Competition #2025-03 |
The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting employment opportunity at the Agassiz Fire Department (AFD) for a FireSmart Coordinator.
This is a newly established role and is currently being offered as a twenty-four (24) month time durated position. The position may be extended, pending further Provincial grant funding.
Reporting to the Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief, the FireSmart Coordinator facilitates FireSmart related activities and supports wildfire preparedness, prevention, and mitigation through public education, assessments, and mitigative work to reduce community risk from wildfires.

The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity in our Recreation, Culture & Projects Department for a Fitness & Health Instructor 1.
Incumbents in this auxiliary position will act as the Lead Instructor for general group fitness & health classes as assigned and in accordance with the seasonal fitness schedule. These key individuals will plan, organize, and deliver lesson plans/fitness curriculum in conjunction with the Recreation Programmer or Designate.
Program & Event Examples: Keep Fit, Get Fit, Dance Fit, Circuit, Weightroom Orientations, Demonstration and "Try It" sessions at Community Health Fairs, Move for Health Day, Senior Events.
