Administrative Assistant

Competition #2026-18

The District of Kent is currently accepting applications for the following student position. This position is open to students who are currently enrolled in school and returning to school in the fall.


This time-durated position may be required for up to a sixteen (16) week period between the months of May to August 2026.

 

Preference will be given to students enrolled in post-secondary administration programs; however, other programs may be considered. A valid BC driver’s licence is required.


Pay and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458. The 2025 wage rate for this student position is $23.87 per hour plus 14.0% in lieu of benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the District accept email and in person applications?
Commencing January 2025, the District has moved to an online application system that is simple and easy to use! This is our preferred method to receive all applications. If you are having difficulty using the online application system, please contact jobs@kentbc.ca, or visit us at Municipal Hall to submit your application in person.  
Can I apply for a job competition after the application deadline date?
We are unable to accept applications after a competition closes. We recommend interested candidates subscribe to this page to receive notifications when new job openings become available. 
If a job competition is closed and reposted at a later date, do I need to reapply to be considered?
Yes, if a job competition you have applied for is reposted at a later date you must submit your application again to be considered. 
Will I need to complete a Criminal Record Check?
Yes, as part of the District's recruitment process, various positions require a satisfactory Police Information Check (PIC) as a condition of employment. 
I am interested in multiple job competitions, do I need to apply to each posting?
Yes, you must apply to each job posting as they are assessed and reviewed separately.
